Our Volunteer Onboarding Guide & Civic Ethics Framework
Volunteering with an Association Loi 1901 is an enriching commitment to the democratic public good. At CAP JUNIORS, we welcome individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and professions who share our conviction that every child deserves the joy of physical sport and the wonder of outdoor discovery. We operate on a model of mutual respect, transparency, and collaborative mentorship.
Because we work directly with minors, our association maintains a rigorous yet supportive onboarding pathway designed to protect children while empowering our volunteer mentors. All incoming volunteers participate in a structured orientation that includes:
- Values Orientation: An introduction to the legal foundations of the French Association Law of 1901, our non-commercial ethos, and our strict child protection charter.
- Background Verification: Statutory compliance checks, including verification of clean judicial records (Bulletin n°3 du Casier Judiciaire) in accordance with French Ministry of Youth regulations.
- Pedagogical & Safety Briefing: Review of child psychology principles, positive reinforcement coaching, heat illness prevention, and emergency first-aid protocols.
- Pair Mentoring: New volunteers are initially paired with experienced lead animators for their first three field sessions to ensure confidence and seamless integration.
2026 Civic Service (Service Civique) Accredited Missions
In partnership with the French National Agency for Civic Service (Agence du Service Civique), CAP JUNIORS offers accredited missions for young adults aged 16 to 25 (and up to 30 for individuals with disabilities). These missions represent an extraordinary opportunity to dedicate 6 to 10 months to public interest service while receiving a state-funded monthly allowance, social security coverage, and professional mentorship.
For the 2026 season, our accredited Civic Service positions focus on:
- Ambassadors for Inclusive Youth Recreation: Connecting with isolated families in rural and peri-urban neighborhoods to facilitate zero-cost participation in sporting clinics.
- Outdoor Eco-Education Animators: Assisting in the coordination of biodiversity trail excursions, nature orienteering, and environmental awareness campaigns.
- Intergenerational Sports Facilitators: Bridging the gap between senior community members and youth participants during community friendly tournaments.
